Link Building for fun and profit
Link building is one of the most important Search engine optimisation “routines” you can be involved in.
Why is it important.?
Because google values age of site/updating content/links to that site as a way of judging a sites importance.
We believe that search engines dont want to “see” artifical link building methods like paid linking.
If you were using a frowned upon paid linking structure it would be best to make the links appear natural.
Some people go to extremes and then resort to using software that spams sites and leaves their url/keywords in text.
Does this increase traffic to your sites.Yes.?
But more likely it increases the sites indexing and ranking, which leads to more traffic.
Spamming sites is not illegal, spamming emails is.!
What often happens is, the google algorithyms can and often do spot large numbers of links appearing, from really low rent sites, and you get deindexed from google search.
Some marketers dont care, they wait for that to happen, then star getting traffic from yahoo and msn.
I prefer to go white hat, aim for google traffic and pick up msn and yahoo later.
